Stay at St Georges Hotel when mountain biking in North Wales

North Wales offers some of the best mountain biking routes in the whole of the UK and attracts cyclists from every level who want to experience the beautiful North Wales scenery and enjoy the range of trails the region has to offer.

The Conwy Valley offers a variety of cycling terrains as the big climbs and descents of the Gwydyr Forest strike into the heart of Snowdonia.

Challenging rides on forest roads give way to exhilarating downhill singletrack, weaving through trees and boulders and plunging through streams.

The Marin Trail is a classic, and one of the first singletrack mountain bike trails in the UK, while the Penmachno Trails offer 30km of rides managed solely by a group of local volunteers, so any donations go to maintaining the tracks and supporting local community causes.

Llandudno is the perfect base to go and explore the variety of cycling paths and here at St Georges Hotel on the Bay of Llandudno we’ll make things easy for you.

  • Free secure cycle storage during the duration of your stay
  • Advice and guidance about the various routes and tracks across the region

Jubilant Llandudno – Voted one of the UK’s top ten resorts by TripAdvisor

Fondly regarded as the “Queen of the Welsh resorts”, North Wales’ Llandudno has been voted one of the top 10 UK holiday resorts in TripAdvisor’s 2012 Travellers’ Choice Awards announced today.

Perfectly placed on the unspoilt North Wales coast, the town has a pristine Blue Flag beach and is the ideal destination for a nostalgic family break with Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides on the beach, sand castle building and the longest pier in Wales.  Llandudno was also the favourite holiday destination of Alice Liddell who inspired Lewis Carroll’s famous Alice books, and first visited Llandudno when she was eight.  More recently, Price William and Katherine Middleton have been spotted enjoying evenings out there.

The 870-mile-long Wales Coast Path opens this weekend (5 May), making Wales the first country to have a continuous trail all the way around its coast. Nearby Bodnant Garden also boats one of the world’s most impressive laburnum arches which is 55 metres long and flowers in late May.

Summer Breaks on the Coast

Situated on the seafront with glorious views of Llandudno Bay, as well as of the Great and Little Orme headlands, the St George’s Hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the different activities on offer in North Wales.  One night’s accommodation, including a three-course dinner and full Welsh breakfast, costs from £107.50 pp (two sharing). A family of four (with the same package) costs from £73.75 pp (based on a family of four sharing). Outside Events by St Georges

July 19, 2011
Outside Events exclusively by St Georges

Outside Events exclusively by St Georges

Here at St Georges Hotel we have always excelled in meetings, conferences and all sorts of events but the 2011 Llandudno Triathlon event for Capita was slightly different!

For a start it was on the Llandudno Promenade, just a few inches from an extremely volatile sea and secondly it was probably the wettest and stormiest Sunday in July for well over 100 years!

Not a promising start for an outside event for an extremely prominent company looking to wow their invited guests with luxury, elegance and first class service in the heart of the Triathlon action.

The premise was simple! Serve 60 VIP guests breakfast, lunch and dinner in a beautifully appointed Marquee on the Llandudno Promenade next to the athlete transition area and race finishing point.

Our outside event division did us proud, battling through treacherous weather conditions, tight deadlines and coping with a single minded chef intent on serving the best food this side of Le Gavroche, in a kitchen consistently harassed by the unforgiving elements.

Our glamorous front of house team maintained perfect decorum as they served the beautifully presented food, albeit with one eye on the increasing size of the approaching waves and the other on the nearest roadside exit.

The event was a perfect success which was no small part due to the meticulous planning and exacting standards demanded from Capita, the client and our professional and highly skilled Sales and Event Management team.

We’re looking forward to the next event – where ever that might be!

You don’t find our Outside Events Team – We find you!

Or if that doesn’t work for you call us on 01492 877544 or email events@stgeorgeswales.co.uk
